Biography

Senior Master Sgt.Tamara M. Wass is the First Sergeant of the 419th Aircraft Maintenance Squadron, Hill Air Force Base, Utah. She is the unit commander’s key advisor and liaison to other senior leaders. She provides direction to the enlisted force and represents their interests to base agencies. Sergeant Wass is responsible for the morale, welfare, and readiness of all members assigned to the squadron. Sergeant Wass serves as the President of the 419th Fighter Wing First Sergeants Council.

Sergeant Wass served three and a half years on active duty as a material management craftsman prior to joining the Air Force Reserve in 1998. She has held many unique assignments, including Non Commissioned Officer in Charge of the 419th FW Honor Guard, unit key spouse, fitness training leader, and deployed victim advocate. She has deployed in support of Operation Southern Watch, Operation Iraqi Freedom, Joint Task Force Horn of Africa, and Operations Enduring Freedom, Inherent Resolve, and Freedom’s Sentinel.
