Math Instructor

Chantel grew up in the Cottonwood Heights area of Salt Lake City. She currently lives in the Ogden area with her 3 children, 2 cats, 2 snakes, 1 salamander, and 1 dog. (She loves animals.) She began her career in healthcare, studying Medical Assisting and Medical Terminology, and is very excited to pass along her healthcare experience by teaching Medical Terminology. Chantel competed in, and won, the gold medal in the Utah SkillsUSA Medical Assisting competition in 2009, and then went on to win the silver medal in the 2009 SkillsUSA National competition. She worked for many years as a patient educator, CPR instructor, and physician coach. During that time she also worked as a math instructor, providing additional support to at-risk youth in the Weber county and Ogden city areas through a Utah state sponsored education grant. Chantel has always enjoyed helping others, and teaching others. She loves teaching at UMA because she can share her favorite subjects; Healthcare, Sciences, and Math. She has an AAT degree in Medical Assisting, and a BS in Health Information Management. Chantel is currently pursuing her goal to earn a Masters degree in Mathematics Education. She loves teaching and learning, and is excited to share her knowledge, and learn alongside her amazing cadets.
